Rifle-Pistol Range Information

  • Monday - Saturday 7:30 am until sunset

  • Sunday 12 noon until sunset

  • Range will not be used when the farmer is working in the field behind the range or when work is being done on the solar farm on the hill. This is a safety issue and not up for debate!

  • 50 yard range distance

  • Carry in/out targets using only approved targets

Rifle-Pistol Range Rules

  • The range is for members only.

  • Safety is the responsibility of each shooter!

  • Our ranges are operated in strict compliance with applicable Massachusetts Law and Club Guidelines.

  • All cards must be displayed on the range board, colored side out. If they are not displayed you will be asked to leave. This provides a visual means of preventing unauthorized use of our range.

  • The range is controlled by the first range occupant (first-come, first-serve). Control of the range will be passed onto the other shooters in order of their arrival to the range. Any shooter may call a cease-fire should an unstable condition arise.

  • No alcohol on the range at any times.

  • All firearms must have actions open when not in use unless they are holstered or cased. Muzzles must face downrange.

  • A hand-thrower for clay targets cannot be used on the range - this also creates safety issues. A hand-thrower can be used anytime except using trap on Sunday before 1pm.

  • All rounds discharged must be aimed at the berm behind the target area, below the designated height, and between the range marker posts.

  • No shooting poles, signs, range markers, or any other object not intended for a target.

  • Use of fully automatic weapons and .50 BMG weapons are not allowed on the range.

  • Shotguns are permitted on the range with the following restrictions: Must bring and remove your own targets. engaging wooden targets at distances less than 25 yards is prohibited. Anyone discharging a shotgun into a pistol or file target which is on the range will have their membership revoked.

  • Shooters are responsible for the clean-up after shooting. All trash and empty shells should be placed in the trash barrel.

  • A full printout of all of the rules is available in the club.

  • Guests must purchase a One-Day range membership from the club (see this link for details). If for a day the club is not open, the One-Day membership needs to be purchased on a day the club is open prior to shooting. Guests must remain on the range with a current member at all times. Guests must possess a FID or LTC, or be under the direct supervision of a properly licensed member.
